Brahman Unity Foundation Successfully Concludes ‘BBL 3’ Badminton Tournament in Pune
PUNE, MAHARASHTRA – April 18, 2026 — The Brahman Unity Foundation proudly announces the successful conclusion of its highly anticipated two-day badminton extravaganza, the “BBL 3” (Brahman Badminton League Season 3). The action-packed tournament took place on the 11th and 12th of April across two premier sporting venues in Pune: Spunk Shuttlers Badminton Courts and Academy, and Wow sports and fitness – both located at Ambegaon, Katraj area of Pune.
The weekend saw an incredible display of athleticism, sportsmanship, and community spirit as players of all ages gathered to compete across various categories, ranging from Under-13 juniors to the spirited 55+ veterans. The event not only promoted physical fitness but also served as a fantastic platform to foster unity and camaraderie within the community.
Spectators were treated to thrilling rallies and nail-biting finishes. In the junior categories, Anushka Dharap and Anay Ashish Joshi showcased immense potential, clinching the G1 (Girls U13) and B1 (Boys U13) titles, respectively. Eshaan Raje dominated the B2 (Boys U18) category to take home the gold.
The doubles events were equally fiercely contested. The Ladies Doubles title was claimed by the dynamic duo of Sharwa Bedre and Shreeya Utpat, while Vardhan Dongre and Revati Shrikhande emerged victorious in the Mixed Doubles Open.
In the PC (Parent-Child) – Men’s Doubles category, Pratap and Aseem Shrotriya claimed the top spot, while Sainath Raje and Eshaan Raje secured the runner-up position. Similarly, in the PC (Parent-Child) – Mixed Doubles category, Yogesh and Arya Sahasrabuddhe won the first prize, with Parag and Ramya Sumant taking the runner-up title after a closely contested match. The coordination and teamwork displayed between the parents and their children on the court was highly appreciated by the audience.
Proving that age is just a number, Dr. Vivek Jabade and Dr. Ajay Raval secured a brilliant victory in the 55+ Doubles.
The highlight of the weekend was the highly energetic team events. In the Open Age Team Event, the “Net Ninjas” (Ishan Agashe, Niranjan Keskar, Ojas Natu, Paresh Deo, Parth Thatte, Rohit Kunte, and Raghav Khare) triumphed over “Team Acers” (Niraj Vaze, Kunal Gole, Nachiket Dyaygude, Ishan Deshpande, Adwait Sathe, Vardhan Dongre, Aditya Dharmadhikari). Meanwhile, the 40+ Team Event championship was lifted by “Chanakyas – The Strategists,” (Alok Deshpande, Karna Gadre, Nikhil Salwekar, Omkar Kelkar, Pratap Shrotriya, Rohit Deo, Shailesh Bapat) who outplayed the “Smashing Pandits” (Aditya Kale, Maitreyee Godbole, Mandar Ghanekar, Nikhil Gosawi, Rohan Dhaygude, Rohan Athalye, Sarvesh Deodhar) in a spectacular finale.
Adding to the prestige of the event, International Umpire Mr. Sudip Barve graced the tournament with his special presence. He spent time watching the matches, cheering on the participants, and providing valuable encouragement to the players, which significantly boosted their morale.
The winners were felicitated by Mr. Sanjay Deshpande, Founder of Sanjeevani Group, a renowned environmentalist, and a passionate wildlife photographer. An avid badminton enthusiast himself, Mr. Deshpande brought his philosophy of “nurturing relations to build society” to the courts, making the awards ceremony a truly inspiring moment for all the players.

पुणे, महाराष्ट्र – १८ एप्रिल २०२६ — ब्राह्मण युनिटी फाउंडेशनच्या वतीने आयोजित करण्यात आलेल्या ‘बीबीएल ३’ (ब्राम्हण बॅडमिंटन लीग पर्व ३) या दोन दिवसीय भव्य बॅडमिंटन स्पर्धेचा नुकताच पुण्यात अत्यंत उत्साहात समारोप झाला. ११ आणि १२ एप्रिल रोजी पुण्यातील आंबेगाव, कात्रज भागात प्रसिद्ध असलेल्या “स्पंक शटलर्स बॅडमिंटन कोर्ट्स अँड अॅकॅडमी” (Spunk Shuttlers Badminton Courts and Academy) आणि “वाव स्पोर्ट्स आणि फिटनेस” (Wow sports and fitness) या दोन उत्कृष्ट बॅडमिंटन कोर्ट्सवर या स्पर्धा पार पडल्या.
या स्पर्धेत १३ वर्षांखालील मुला-मुलींपासून ते ५५ वर्षांवरील ज्येष्ठ खेळाडूंपर्यंत सर्व वयोगटातील स्पर्धकांनी सहभाग नोंदवला. खेळाडूंचे क्रीडा कौशल्य, खिलाडूवृत्ती आणि समाजातील एकतेचे दर्शन या दोन दिवसांत पाहायला मिळाले. शारीरिक तंदुरुस्तीला चालना देण्यासोबतच समाजात बंधुभाव आणि एकता वाढीस लावण्याच्या उद्देशाने या स्पर्धेचे यशस्वी आयोजन करण्यात आले.
ज्युनियर गटात अनुष्का धारप हिने G1 (१३ वर्षांखालील मुली) आणि अनय आशिष जोशी याने B1 (१३ वर्षांखालील मुले) गटात विजेतेपद पटकावले. तर B2 (१८ वर्षांखालील मुले) गटात इशान राजे याने सुवर्णपदक खिशात घातले.
दुहेरीचे सामनेही अत्यंत अटीतटीचे झाले. महिला दुहेरीचे विजेतेपद शर्वा बेद्रे आणि श्रीया उत्पात या जोडीने मिळवले, तर ‘मिश्र दुहेरी ओपन’मध्ये वर्धन डोंगरे आणि रेवती श्रीखंडे यांनी बाजी मारली.
‘पीसी (पालक-पाल्यासाठी) – पुरुष दुहेरी’ गटात प्रताप आणि असीम श्रोत्रिय यांनी विजेतेपद पटकावले, तर साईनाथ राजे आणि इशान राजे यांनी या गटात उपविजेतेपद (Runner-up) मिळवले. तसेच, ‘पीसी – मिश्र दुहेरी’ गटात योगेश आणि आर्या सहस्रबुद्धे यांनी प्रथम क्रमांक पटकावला, तर पराग आणि रम्या सुमंत यांनी अटीतटीच्या लढतीत उपविजेतेपद पटकावले. पालकांनी आपल्या पाल्यांसोबत दाखवलेला समन्वय आणि मैदानातील चुरस प्रेक्षकांसाठी कौतुकास्पद ठरली.
वयाची पन्नाशी ओलांडल्यानंतरही टिकून असलेल्या जिद्दीच्या जोरावर, ५५+ गटात डॉ. विवेक जबडे आणि डॉ. अजय रावळ यांनी बाजी मारली.
या स्पर्धेचे मुख्य आकर्षण म्हणजे सांघिक (Team) सामने. ‘ओपन एज टीम इव्हेंट’मध्ये “नेट निन्जास” (इशान आगाशे, निरंजन केतकर, ओजस नातू, परेश देव, पार्थ थत्ते, रोहित कुंटे, राघव खरे) संघाने ‘टीम एसर्स’चा (नीरज वझे, कुणाल गोळे, नचिकेत धायगुडे, इशान देशपांडे, अद्वैत साठे, वर्धन डोंगरे, आदित्य धर्माधिकारी) पराभव करत विजेतेपद पटकावले. तसेच, ४०+ टीम इव्हेंटमध्ये “चाणक्याज- द स्ट्रॅटेजिस्ट्स” (आलोक देशपांडे, कर्ण गद्रे, निखिल साळवेकर, ओंकार केळकर, प्रताप श्रोत्रिय, रोहित देव, शैलेश बापट) संघाने ‘स्मॅशिंग पंडित्स’वर (आदित्य काळे, मैत्रेयी गोडबोले, मंदार घाणेकर, निखिल गोसावी, रोहन धायगुडे, रोहन आठल्ये, सर्वेश देवधर) मात करत चॅम्पियनशिपवर आपले नाव कोरले.
या स्पर्धेचे आणखी एक विशेष आकर्षण म्हणजे आंतरराष्ट्रीय स्तरावरील पंच (इंटरनॅशनल अंपायर) श्री. सुदीप बर्वे यांची लाभलेली विशेष उपस्थिती. त्यांनी या स्पर्धेला सदिच्छा भेट दिली आणि सामन्यांचा आनंद घेत खेळाडूंचे मनोबल वाढवले. त्यांच्या उपस्थितीमुळे आणि प्रोत्साहनामुळे सर्वच खेळाडूंमध्ये नवा उत्साह निर्माण झाला.
या स्पर्धेतील विजेत्यांना संजीवनी ग्रुपचे संस्थापक, सुप्रसिद्ध पर्यावरणवादी आणि वन्यजीव छायाचित्रकार श्री. संजय देशपांडे यांच्या हस्ते गौरविण्यात आले. स्वतः एक उत्तम बॅडमिंटन प्रेमी असलेल्या श्री. देशपांडे यांनी ‘संबंध जोपासण्याने समाज घडतो’ या त्यांच्या तत्त्वानुसार खेळाडूंना दिलेले प्रोत्साहन या पारितोषिक वितरण सोहळ्याचे खास आकर्षण ठरले.
ब्राह्मण युनिटी फाउंडेशनच्या प्रवक्त्यांनी सांगितले की, “गेल्या दोन दिवसांत खेळाडूंमध्ये दिसलेला उत्साह खरोखरच प्रेरणादायी होता. खेळाच्या माध्यमातून सर्वांना एकत्र आणण्याच्या उद्देशाने ‘बीबीएल ३’चे आयोजन करण्यात आले होते. स्पंक शटलर्स आणि वाव स्पोर्ट्सच्या कोर्टवर ७ ते ७०+ वयोगटातील खेळाडूंना एकत्र खेळताना पाहणे हेच या स्पर्धेचे मोठे यश आहे. सर्व विजेत्यांचे अभिनंदन आणि सहभागी झालेल्या प्रत्येकाचे मनःपूर्वक आभार.”
